Memorial Day Program at Boone Mall, Blowing Rock Rd Boone, NC MAY 28, 2018 Beginning: 10:30 AM

37th Annual New River Canoe Race

Come join us June 2, 2018 for the 37th annual New River Canoe Race exploring a beautiful 5-mile gorgeous, calm stretch of what is thought to be the oldest river in the Americas. You and yours will enjoy live music, exhibits, free tubing, a free t-shirt (for the first 200) and the challenge of competition on whatever level you choose. Adults $15, kids under 12 $5, family float $25 (up to 6 in boat), additional race $5. You have great fun while proceeds go to the High Country State Park System. Paddlers start at Zaloo's between 9am & 1:30pm and finish at the New River State Park Wagoner Access where you will find tasty food trucks, hiking, door prizes as well as an awards ceremony at 3pm. Third Annual CowBelle Classic

CowBelle Classic is a women's specific, non competitive bicycle ride offering 4 different routes. Aid Stations and SAG support is provided with lunch following the ride. The Boone Area Cyclists Club is the sponsoring host for the event.

Free Monthly Mindfulness Meditation @ Watauga County Public Library

Join us for an hour of mindfulness meditation. We will focus on daily practices to calm the mind and wash away the daily stresses, using breath awareness exercises and relaxation techniques combined with guided creative visualizations. These are skills that you can take with you and use on your own in your daily life.
